Welcome
We are pleased to welcome you to the recruitment website for the role of Headteacher at St Robert of Newminster Catholic School and Sixth Form College.
St Robert's is a highly successful school with an excellent reputation throughout the area. Judged 'Good' in our last inspection in 2007, we have continued to build on our strengths in teaching and pastoral care to enable our students to develop and succeed academically, morally, socially and spiritually. As a Catholic school, we are committed to providing a supportive and caring learning environment with Christian values at the heart of everything we do. A Humanities College since 2005, St Robert's has a Sports Mark award, Healthy School and Investors in People status and is an SSAT Consultant School. We are rightly proud of all our successes, but also realise there is much more to do.
An inclusive school, our aim is for every member of staff and young person at St Robert's to be given the opportunity to develop, be creative, achieve and succeed. Our new leader will relish this challenge and be able to empower our whole school community to nurture confident, responsible, kind young people who are well equipped to take on the challenges of further education and employment and have the skills and confidence to achieve a fulfilling life and make a positive contribution to society.
On visiting our school, you will be impressed by the fantastic new buildings which offer a truly 21st Century learning environment. There is a special atmosphere at St Robert's, embodied by staff and pupils, as we seek to reflect the life, teachings and values of Jesus Christ in our organisation, curriculum and relationships with each other.
I am sure you will agree there is much to celebrate but we realise that the future holds new challenges as well as opportunities. We need an exceptional leader to inspire us to greater achievements in the coming years. A committed practising Catholic, you’ll need to sustain and build on our reputation for excellence in the Diocese and wider community. Outward facing, our new leader will have the vision to develop St Robert’s on the national stage while providing the very best learning opportunities for our students.
On behalf of the Governing Body, I would like to thank you for your interest in our school. I hope that this website will give you a real insight into our community and our vision for the future – a future we hope you can help us create.
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and can be arranged by contacting either Adam Brett or Phil Watt at Navigate on 0844 800 5300.
Yours sincerely,
John Waugh MBE, Chair of Governors
